Why I’m Here
When Harvey hit, I stopped being a visitor.
I’d spent over 20 years practicing law in large firms in big cities. I’d just finished building a vacation home in Rockport when Hurricane Harvey made landfall. When the storm passed, I made a decision: move there permanently, and put everything I knew about insurance claims to work for the people who needed it most.
My wife Molly had just retired after 25 years of teaching. She cut her retirement short and moved with me. Together we opened Baker Law in March 2018 — less than a year after Harvey devastated the community we’d decided to call home.
In Rockport, you see your clients at the grocery store, at the marina, at church. I have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. That’s not a warning — it’s a promise.

If you aren't one when we get started, you'll be one when we're finished. Originally from Portland, Texas, I practiced in large firms for over 20 years before establishing Baker Law in 2018 — less than a year after Hurricane Harvey devastated the coast.
Oh — and I still suck at saltwater fly fishing.
